My mother sent me to the posho mill a few kilometers away from home. The posho mill was busy and there was along queue of people waiting to be served and this forced me to spend a lot more time at the mil waiting for my turn. I knew my parents were getting concerned about the delay – it was getting late in the evening.

When I got home I realized that my father had concluded that I was having a nice time with a boyfriend for all that long and had won my mother’s favour. Whatever I said about the delay was to them blatant lies. I spent the night dejected and lonely.
